Montreal Rock’n’Roll Oasis Marathon

The 26th version of Montreal Rock’n’Roll Oasis Marathon, takes place on September 25, 2016 in several neighborhoods in and around downtown Montréal. Over 20,000 participants and thousands of spectators, participate in this great competition each year. This competition consists of 5 different race which are designed based on age and performance. The main marathon race course starts at the Jacques-Cartier Bridge and winds through Île Notre Dame and Île Ste-Hélène, passing Six Flags amusement park La Ronde. It continues across the St. Lawrence River through Old Montréal and the Old Port to the Gay Village, then continues up through the Plateau, Mile End and Rosemont districts to Villeray before folding back and concluding at Parc Lafontaine. The Finish Line Festival in the park runs from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and includes the Awards Ceremony (12:15 to 12:30 p.m.) and a closing performance by Canadian alt-rock icons Our Lady Peace, who take the stage at 12:40 p.m.
